The grabbling season is here!

The water temperatures are climbing in all the lakes. We went to Lake Gaston on Sunday to check the water temperature and check a few catfish holes since we were there. Lake Gaston is a new lake for us this summer and since I don’t know when the blue cats start spawning there I knew I needed to get in the water early. The water temps ranged from 64 to 66 which is about 5 degrees below the mark they spawn in other lakes. We were out on the water for 5 hours and checked 30 holes but didn’t find any fish yet. We will be going to High Rock and Lake Norman this weekend to check some holes there. I’m taking out my first group of the year this a Saturday.
